My name is Paul Pierotti and I work for Accenture, a global management consulting and technology services company.
I use mathematics and statistics, known as analytics, to solve real life business problems. I like working in this area because it is always changing. I have used analytics for projects such as estimating Ireland’s future need for hospital beds, simulating the flight of a helicopter and improving the marketing campaigns for banks and mobile phone operators.
I work with organisations to help them develop strategies to improve business outcomes and reduce costs. I also work on designing and putting in place advanced analytics services for companies to improve
performance in areas such as healthcare management and fraud management.
Most days I can be found running workshops with clients helping them make better decisions through the use of analytics. In school I studied maths and physics.
After that I went on to do a degree and then a masters in applied maths, both at Strathclyde University in Scotland. Outside of work, my kids and I love going to watch Dublin play and when I can, I also take them back home to see Glasgow Celtic.
